WARMACHINE™ is set in the Iron Kingdoms ™, an environment that combines the best of traditional fantasy with steam-power and gunpowder. Across the realm, ancient rivalries among nations are exploding into all-out conflict, setting the stage for WARMACHINE and other Iron Kingdom products.

In WARMACHINE, players take on the role of an elite soldier-sorcerer known as a "warcaster." While a warcaster is a formidable force on the battlefield, their true strength is in their ability to magically control and coordinate the actions of their mighty warjacks-steam-powered combat automatons that represent the pinnacle of military might in the Iron Kingdoms. Each warjack is a fifteen foot tall ironclad behemoth, a coal-fired engine of destruction with a primitive magical brain. On its own a warjack is capable of only the most rudimentary actions, but when controlled by a warcaster its efficiency and deadliness increase dramatically.

WARMACHINE focuses on battles between warcasters and the titanic forces that they control. A game is fought with a warjack's thundering cannons, ripping iron claws and crushing hammer blows, as well as devastating spells wrought by the warcaster himself. When the dust settles, one side is victorious and the other is nothing but smoking scrap metal!

In HORDES, monstrous beasts set upon one another in a bloody clash of tooth and fang that churns the battlefield into a seething sea of carnage. Brought to righteous wrath by the intruding wars of man or their own thirst for conquest, their masters feed on pain and rage, forging primal energy into a weapon to wield against their enemies. Ash, desolation, and the smoking ruin of once proud civilizations are all that remains in their wake. HORDES is a new 30mm tabletop miniatures combat game set in the wilds of the Iron Kingdoms.

Players jump into the action controlling enigmatic Warlocks and their packs of savage Warbeasts as they battle for territory and survival. Take control of a powerful warlock and wreck havoc on your foes with a warpack of hulking warbeasts fuelled by unbridled rage. In HORDES, only the strongest, fastest, and most cunning will survive, while the rest will be troll-chow for your warbeasts.

HORDES is WARMACHINE's feral twin. HORDES is a completely stand-alone game, utilizing unique mechanics and systems that enable your warlock to control his army of warbeasts. No focus, No warcasters. These are not new factions for WARMACHINE. At the same time, it is 100% compatible with WARMACHINE. If you know how to play WARMACHINE you already know the basics of HORDES. While the four factions of Hordes often fight each other, no doubt you'll try your armies against the armies of WARMACHINE time and again.

Monsters and heroes face off on the miniatures battlefield!

True to the head-to-head nature of the D&D Miniatures Game, the latest expansion set highlights miniatures against the backdrop of war. Per previous releases, the figures in the set are selected from key D&D roleplaying game titles such as Monster Manual, Monster Manual III, Miniatures Handbook, and the Eberron and Forgotten Realms campaign settings. The set also includes an elite group of figures that come with a second, epic-level stat card, allowing players to assemble higher-value armies with which to do battle.
